"I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” - Genesis 28:15 (NIV)
In changing seasons and a changing world, it is good to know God's covenant promise of protection to Abraham and Isaac remains unchanged. It was offered to Jacob as well in this beautiful passage from Genesis. Jacob found it was not enough to be Abraham's grandson. He had to establish his own relationship with God just as we do today. Since God has no grandchildren, each one of us needs to find our own personal relationship with the Lord. It is not enough to hear wonderful stories about people in the Bible. Each of us needs to become part of that story ourselves because God's love, presence, protection, and promises never end!
Rest assured you are always on God’s mind. He loves you unconditionally. Therefore you can have courage to meet any challenge each day no matter what happens. God is there always watching over you. Through the storms of life, He is our hope! Through our darkest hours, He is our light and direction. Through our darkest moments, God is our strength and sunshine. In sad times, He is our comfort. As the sands of time run down, Christ promises us eternal life because we are His! God's promises never fail. Or as that beautiful blessing by an unknown author says:
“May God Bless you …
With sunshine to warm you
When the world seems cold
With smiles to cheer you
When the road seems long.
With bright stars in the sky
When the ways seems dark.”
Prayer: Thank you Lord for your loving promises. Within your love, we can trust till the end of time. Amen.
Meditation For The Day: God's blessings are eternal.
