FROM THE
PASTOR'S DESK

As we enter into the month of April, we enter into a time of transition and transformation. The end of winter here in New England is drawing to a close. And signs of new life spout forth all around us. We see the beauty in God's good creation. And we recognize God's love for us in the promise of our creator God making all things anew. This is the nature of April, a time of growth, a time of transformation, and a time of new life.

Throughout the Season of Lent, we have done the hard work of looking inward to see the status of our hearts and our souls. We have repented, prayed, made sacrifices, fasted and practiced self-denial. And we have given alms to the poor, to those in need, and volunteered helping worthy causes. Our journey nears its end. Soon we will gather in great celebration, but often the final steps are the most difficult.

In the weeks ahead we will celebrate the arrival of our Messiah to Jerusalem, and then follow him to the cross. Let us prepare our hearts to walk the final steps of our journey to the cross with our Lord - a journey that transforms our lives and brings new birth by the grace of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
