HAPPY NEW YEAR!
As we begin this new year, it is time for a fresh start. It is time to put behind our old ways and to rejoice in the new life God offers to us through Jesus Christ.
"So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!"
(2 Corinthians 5:17, NRSV)
God's desires for us to be happy and to enjoy life. Psalm 1:1-2 tells us
"Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; but their delight is in the law of the Lord and on his law, they meditate day and night"
What would life look like in 2022 if we all heeded the words of our Savior to love God and to love one another, including our enemies?
Could we overcome that which divides us, could we find peace with our neighbors?
Could we have peace in this world?
The world around us will not change until we ourselves are willing to change. Let us approach each new day with new attitudes lived in faith and love.
Let us open our heart to allow the Holy Spirit to touch our hearts transforming us into a new creation able to live life in Holy Love as modeled for us by Jesus Christ.
For it is only possible to be happy and to enjoy life when we live our lives in God's Holy Love and right relationship with one another.
Learning to love one another with offering our gifts and talents, our labor and toil for God's Glory, is where we will find true happiness.
Recognizing that all we receive is a gift from God to be share with others will lead us to righteous living.
Trusting that with God all things are possible will give us the strength to overcome those who scoff at us as we seek to trust and obey the One who sends us out to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ and to fulfill his commandments to love God and to love one another.
"May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace!"
(Psalm 29:11, NRSV)
May God Bless you in the new year!
Happy New Year!
